We’d love to welcome you to Tunbridge Wells Chess Club! Whether you’re a seasoned league player or just rediscovering the game, there’s a place for you here.

Never played before? That’s genuinely fine — see how to learn chess for the fastest route from zero to your first game, then come along.

Membership

Annual membership fees are:

• Adults: £80
• Juniors (under 18): £40

To make things easier, you can either:

• Pay in full at the start of the season, or
• Pay in two instalments — adults £40 now and £40 on 1st January; juniors £20 now and £20 on 1st January.

These are the 2025/26 rates. Fees are reviewed at the AGM on Monday 7 September, and if anything changes for 2026/27 we’ll update this page straight away.

Come Along First

If you’d like to try the club before joining, you’re very welcome to come along for a free introductory visit. Just drop by on a Monday evening and introduce yourself — we’ll make sure you get a game.
