Chess in Sidcup

Sidcup Chess Club meets on Wednesday evenings at Hurst Community Centre on Hurst Road, and fields teams in the Kent county leagues. It’s the natural home board for the Bexley side of the map — Sidcup itself, Bexleyheath, Welling and Blackfen.

If Wednesday doesn’t suit

Sidcup sits between two well-served neighbours, so most other nights are covered close by:

• Dartford — Thursdays at St Anselm’s, with a dedicated junior club running alongside.
• Bromley, Beckenham & Orpington — three clubs covering Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, including Petts Wood & Orpington’s Friday junior session.
• Charlton — Mondays at Mycenae House, for the London direction; details in the county directory.
