Chess in Cranbrook & the Weald
Weald of Kent Chess Club meets on Monday evenings at Cranbrook Library on Carriers Road, and fields teams in the Kent county leagues. It’s the local club for the Weald — Cranbrook, Tenterden, Hawkhurst, Goudhurst, Staplehurst and the villages between.
Other options from the Weald
- Tunbridge Wells Chess Club — that’s us, also Mondays, half an hour west along the A262. If you’d like a larger pool of players and a busy internal competition scene, come and try a night; visitors are always welcome.
- Maidstone — two clubs on Wednesdays and Thursdays if Monday doesn’t suit.
- Hastings & St Leonards — Fridays, down the A21; a historic club with its own premises. Details in the county directory.
The full directory, with every club’s night and venue, is on Chess in Kent.
